P/P tape
- during product stacking;
- when stacking cargo in several bundles, layers;
- when reinforcing the outer packaging;
- with stabilization, uniform distribution of the load on the pallet.
Details
Polypropylene tape (PP) – polymer strapping (from the English strapping – to bind) tape, which has found wide application in packaging and transportation of various goods. Packaging polypropylene tape has high resistance to breaking loads (up to 500 kg). A wide range of packing strapping tapes allows you to use them for packing cargo of any size and weight, but mainly polypropylene tape is used for tying and fastening boxes with relatively small and light loads.
Advantages of polypropylene strapping tape:
- polypropylene tape is very easy to use, strong, light, does not rust and does not leave stains on the product.
- when it breaks under load, it does not relax, which reduces the number of injuries to zero.
- polypropylene tape can be completely recycled and will not pollute the environment.
- goods packed with polypropylene tape have an aesthetic appearance.
The method of tying the ends of the polypropylene tape when packing the cargo:
- with the help of a metal staple. With this fastening method, the ends of the tape are fixed using a metal staple, by crimping a steel staple with a special tool (pliers, combined device). This is the most economical way.
- using a buckle (wire staples). With this method of connection, the ends of the strapping tape are passed through a special buckle in a certain way, and the tape is tightened with a special device – a tensioner. After tensioning, the tape tightly covers the buckle. This method of tying the ends of the polypropylene tape is a profitable opportunity to tighten the ends of the tape when shaking the load.
- using thermal welding of the tape ends. At the moment, this is the most progressive type of tying the ends of polypropylene tape when packing cargo. Thermal welding of the strapping ends is done using automatic or semi-automatic equipment. When using the binding method, the maximum productivity of packaging is achieved. The significant one-time cost of purchasing the equipment soon pays for itself by reducing the cost of staples and buckles.
Polypropylene packaging tape can be made from primary and secondary raw materials. The quality of polypropylene tape made from primary raw materials is higher, but such tape is also more expensive.
Polypropylene tape is a convenient and inexpensive packaging material that reliably ensures the preservation of goods during storage and transportation.
